Amici Art Contest 2020 / 2021





CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Eleventh Amici Art Contest

Artists from across Lane County are invited to enter the eleventh Amici Art Contest  for a chance to win cash prizes and to appear on Amici’s posters, programs, and other promotional materials during the 2020 / 2021 season.

NEW THIS YEAR: A Youth Category for those under 18 years of age!


There will be six:

  • 1 People’s Choice Award — $100
  • NEW this year: 1 Youth Category Winner (up to 18 years) — $200
  • 4 Open Category Award Winners (over 18 years) — $200 (each)


  • The Amici Art Contest, held in cooperation with the Emerald Art Center, accepts submissions through Friday, January 10, 2020.
  • Submissions include a completed application form and several other elements. Please see full details by downloading the contest Guidelines and Entry Form, click here.
  • Judges Anne Korn and Terry Way of Raven Frameworks; Jane Halvorsen, media arts faculty at Lane Community College; and Jessica Lambert, Amici artistic director, will choose the finalists from all submissions.
  • Finalists will be notified and their framed artwork due by Friday, January 31, 2020, at the Emerald Art Center, 500 Main Street, Springfield.
  • Youth and Open Category winners will be announced, Friday, February 14, 2020.
  • The People’s Choice Award winner will be decided by visitors at the Emerald Art Center by the end of February 2020.
  • The artwork will be displayed at the art center for the month of February and at Cascade Manor during March and April.


The contest is held in cooperation with the Emerald Art Center, 500 Main Street, Springfield, which will host a reception Friday, February 14, 2019. The contest is sponsored by John and Linda Van Peenen.
